FAQ

Frequently asked questions

I have never made any jewellery before, which workshop is suitable for me?

Skill Levels are specified in the workshop details. Most workshops are suitable for beginners and those with some experience but a good level of dexterity and eyesight is required. If you are unsure please get in touch.

What do I need to bring to my workshop?

For safety reasons, please wear closed toed shoes and something to tie your hair back with if it's long. All materials and equipment will be provided. Please also bring any reading or prescription glasses you may have.

How many people are there in each workshop?

Most of the workshops you can book on-line (silversmithing type workshops eg stacking rings, silver clay etc) allow six people for lots of support, as and when needed. Wax carving workshops can accomodate a larger number of people. Please get in touch to discuss your party requirements.

Are materials included in the price?

All the materials you need to make your finished piece / pieces are included in the workshop price.

Where do workshops take place?

Workshops are held at various locations throughout the midlands, if booking onto a specific workshop the location details will be included.

If you'd like to make a group booking please get in touch. Kate is happy to arrange a venue for you or go to one you already have in mind.

Is parking available?

Please see venue details for parking availability.

When do I need to pay for the course?

All payment should be made in full upon booking.

What refreshments are included?

Refreshments vary from venue to venue. 3 hour workshops tend to include tea/coffee and biscuits/cake or if they're on an evening they may include a cocktail. Full day workshops tend to include a delicious lunch and some even finish with a glass of prosecco! As each venue is different please see the details of the specific workshop / venue you are booking for more details.

If you have any specific dietary requirements please get in touch at time of booking so I can do my best to accommodate you.

What is accessibility like?

Please contact the venue for specific accessibility details. If you're making a group booking please specify any accessibility requirements when deciding on venues.

Can I get a refund?

Please inform Kate as soon as possible by email if you'd like to cancel your place. Unfortunately refunds are not available unless the place can be filled after cancellation. Every effort will be made to refill your place.

Do you offer workshops for groups?

Yes! Birthday parties, hen dos, corporate events and lots more. More details can be found under Group Bookings or alternatively just get in touch and Kate will be happy to arrange something for you.

What happens if you cancel a workshop?

In the unlikely event Kate cancels a workshop, you will receive a full refund or the option to re-book onto another workshop.

Do you do gift vouchers

Gift vouchers are available to purchase. Bookings for gift vouchers must be made prior to attending a workshop by emailing kate@jewelleryworkshops.co.uk. Gift vouchers must be produced on arrival at the workshop.

Do you have a COVID-19 safety plan?

Health and safety risk assessments have been completed in line with the current guidance to help keep everyone attending workshops safe. These have been updated as of the 19th July 2021 in step four of the government's road map. Most importantly if you or someone in your household has a new, persistent cough; a high temperature; or loses/has changes to their sense of taste or smell, even if these symptoms are mild please self isolate, book a COVID-19 test and do not attend a workshop. Your workshop will be re-arranged for a future date. Equally if you or someone in your household has had a positive COVID-19 result, or if you have been told to self-isolate by NHS Test and Trace please self isolate, book a COVID-19 test and do not attend a workshop. Your workshop will be re-arranged for a future date. Sanitiser will still be available at all workshops and regular cleaning of surfaces and equipment is still in place. Masks are voluntary. Every effort is made to provide adequate ventilation within each venue. As a small business I have taken the decision not to issue refunds for workshops that are not attended due to coronovirus, all workshops will be re-arranged as soon as possible.
