About The Event
Making your wedding rings
Your day will take place in the fully equipped and relaxed surroundings of Kate's own private workshop where you will have exclusive access and sole guidance from Kate. At least 2 weeks prior to your workshop date you will have a half hour friendly consultation with Kate, either in person or virtually. Here we will discuss your design ideas, sizing and metal options as well as any extras you would like to include. On the day itself we'll start with a cuppa, then work through the process slowly to make sure everything is just perfect. We'll pause for a light lunch, get back to work and finish with some fizz to celebrate. Thoughout the day photos will be taken to remind you of your experience.
3-4 months timeframe is ideal to schedule consultation, workshop, casting, hallmarking and any engraving or stone setting. This is dependant on what you'd like, your timings and bookings already in place. Please get in touch even if you don't have quite that much time, I try and be as flexible as possible.
The initial consultation will take approximately half an hour with the workshop itself generally lasting from 3 - 4 hours but this is approximate. What is most important is that you are happy with the quality and finish of your ring.
Wedding ring workshops take place on mid-week days only and generally start at 10am.
Your consultation, workshop day, full use of equipment, private tuition, photos, a light lunch and prosecco. Materials are charged on top of your workshop price please see below.
Material costs vary depending on which metal you choose, plus the shape, design, size, width and weight of your rings. Please note for all metals above 9ct you will be making your ring in silver and then having it cast in your chosen metal. This saves any worry about mistakes being made, you want to enjoy your day after all!
Following your initial consultation you will be given a guide price for your design. The exact price will be determined when materials are purchased or casting is complete due to the fluctuations in metal cost. It is also possible to re-use sentimental gold should you wish to, please note there is still a charge for this process.
Below is a rough guide for metal costs:
Silver: £80 - £120
9ct white, yellow or rose gold : £180 - £450
18ct yellow gold : £300 - £900
18ct white gold: £400- £1000
