Become a jewellery designer for the day and carve your very own pendant or ring on this fun 3 hour workshop. Using a range of tools and equipment you will be shown how to work with speciality jeweller's wax to create your own unique piece of jewellery. It will then be cast into sterling silver, hand finished in my workshop and returned to you by post. Who is it for? Beginners onwards. Please note that a good level of dexterity and eyesight is required. Over 16s with accompanying adult. What will I learn? You'll learn how to shape and work with speciality jeweller's wax using files, sandpaper and shaping tools. We'll examine different surface finishes using various tools or by melting the wax. If you're making a ring you'll learn how to size it using a wax ring mandrel and we'll also look at shaping and adding bails to pendants. What's included Included in the day is the use of all the equipment and materials you need, your masterpiece cast and professionally finished in sterling silver, plus tea, coffee and biscuits. Additional options include hallmarking, wide ring upgrades or carving and casting a second piece. What shall I bring? Reading glasses if you use them and magnifying goggles if you have them. Closed toed shoes are advised and please tie long hair back and avoid loose flappy clothes.
