Details

Our weekly term-time jewellery classes offer a supportive, community-focused environment where you can explore your own ideas, build new skills, and grow your passion for making. Each term introduces three projects with different skill levels in mind — develop these further or bring your own. Guidance is always on hand, whatever direction you take. This Class runs every Tuesday 2-5pm for 11 weeks, beginning Tuesday 21st April through to Tuesday 7th July (half term break 26th May). Held at Jewellery Workshops in Alcester. Small class sizes ensure everyone receives personalised attention. Who is it for? Open to all abilities, from complete beginners through to experienced makers. Beginners will be introduced to traditional jewellery-making techniques and progress towards their own projects, while those with experience can refine their practice and receive tutor guidance on their own work. Please note a good level of dexterity and eyesight is required. Over 16s with accompanying adult. What will I learn? Each of the three termly projects focuses on different skills, materials, tools or conceptual challenges — or all of the above. You'll work at your own pace, building confidence and expanding your repertoire over the course of the term. What's included? In your first session you'll receive copper to get started, along with all the information you need to order materials for the rest of the term. All sundries — solder, saw blades, emery paper, polishing materials and the like — are included, as are all tools and equipment for use under supervision. Material costs vary by project choice, your tutor will talk this through with you. Tea, coffee and biscuits are also included. What shall I bring? Reading glasses if you use them, and magnifying glasses if you have them. Closed toed shoes are advisable. Please tie long hair back and avoid loose, flappy clothes. If the class is full, email kate@jewelleryworkshops.co.uk to join the waiting list. We also run classes on Wednesdays — mornings and afternoons.
