We'll begin the day working in copper, learning a variety of forming techniques using pliers, handmade jigs and dies, before moving on to perfecting our ring band designs in sterling silver. A selection of gemstones colours are available to choose from and tube settings are available in sterling silver or gold filled. Once formed we'll solder our designs together, file, sand and finally, polish. Who is it for? Beginners onwards. Please note that a good level of dexterity and eyesight is required. Over 16's with accompanying adult. What will I learn? You'll learn the basics of jewellery making including shaping and forming, annealing, saw piercing, filing, soldering and polishing. What's included All the equipment and materials you need are provided, including the Sterling Silver, gemstones and settings to make a unique wave ring, plus tea, coffee and biscuits. We break for an hour between 12.30 and 1.30 for lunch. What shall I bring? Reading glasses if you use them and magnifying goggles if you have them. Closed toed shoes are advised. Please tie long hair back and avoid loose flappy clothes.
