Make your own stunning sterling silver bangle or bangles.
Details
Beautiful, wearable, and made entirely by you. In this four-hour silversmithing workshop you'll craft your own sterling silver bangle — and leave with something you'll actually want to wear every day. You'll choose your direction at the start of the day: one beautifully substantial bangle, or two slimmer ones linked together with a handmade jump ring (or worn separately — the choice is yours). Add your own texture from our wide range of finishes and you have something that could only ever belong to you. It's a shorter workshop, but don't be fooled — you'll cover a surprising range of real silversmithing skills and come away with a solid foundation for making more. Who is this workshop for? Perfect for complete beginners — no experience needed whatsoever. If you've ever been curious about working with silver, this is a lovely place to start. A good level of dexterity and close-up vision is helpful. Open to participants aged 16 and over; under-18s are welcome with an accompanying adult. What will you learn? In four hours you'll get hands-on with the core techniques that underpin all silversmithing: Annealing — softening the silver so it's ready to work Saw piercing and filing to shape Soldering — joining your bangle cleanly and securely Shaping and forming around a mandrel Texturing and polishing to a professional finish It's a genuinely thorough introduction to the craft, packed into a half-day format. What's included? Everything is provided in our fully equipped studio in the heart of beautiful Alcester: All tools and equipment Sterling silver to make your bangle or bangles Tea, coffee and biscuits throughout the session What should I bring? Reading glasses if you use them, and magnifying goggles if you have any Closed-toe shoes (essential in a workshop environment) Long hair tied back, and avoid loose or flowing sleeves "One bangle or two — either way, you'll be amazed what you can make in a morning."
