About The Event

Silver clay is a fantastic medium for creating silver jewellery, its versatility allows you to create incredibly intricate patterns with relative ease. Like the name suggests, it's a clay like material that can be shaped just like any other form of clay but when it's fired (with a torch) it becomes solid silver and can even be hallmarked as fine silver (99.9%).

This full day workshop allows you plenty of time to really get to grips with the processes and skills you'll learn. As it's such a versatile medium you really can make a range of jewellery, from pendants and charms to earrings, you'll come away with some gorgeous pieces to take home.

Techniques covered include:

- Rolling clay to consistent thicknesses

- How to shape, cut and texture the clay

- How to stamp and hand engrave

- Adding multiple layers of clay

- Sanding and filing

- How to torch fire your jewellery

- Polishing, refining and adding different finishes to your silver

- How to add clasps and findings to finish your jewellery

We provide all the equipment you will need, including 7g silver clay to make your pieces and findings for the finishing touch. As well as your completed masterpieces you'll also take away a course manual, giving you a solid foundation of skills.

A delicious high tea style lunch is included plus tea, coffee, soft drinks and biscuits throughout the day. We finish the day with a glass of Prosecco giving you time to admire your creations.

Please note: Closed shoes must be worn and long hair tied back. Please bring your reading glasses if you use them. Over 16s only, with accompanying adult.
